Other prohibition and restriction signs

They ban or limit specific manoeuvres and behaviour: speed, overtaking, turns, stopping and parking.

How to recognise them: A circle with a red border and a white ground, carrying the figure or symbol of what it forbids.

R-300
R-300 · Minimum gap
You may not drive closer to the vehicle in front than the distance shown, except while overtaking. With no figure, it is a general reminder to keep the legally required safe separation.
R-301
R-301 · Maximum speed
You may not exceed the speed shown, in km/h. It applies from the sign until the next end-of-speed-limit, end-of-restrictions or different maximum-speed sign — unless it shares a post or board with a danger-warning sign, in which case it ends when the hazard does. On a road without priority it stops applying once you leave a junction with a priority road.

R-302 · No right turn
Turning right is prohibited.
R-303
R-303 · No left turn
Turning left is prohibited. This also bans making a U-turn.
R-304
R-304 · No U-turn
Making a U-turn is prohibited.
R-305
R-305 · No overtaking
On top of the general overtaking rules, no vehicle may overtake a motor vehicle on the carriageway where doing so means moving into the side reserved for oncoming traffic. It applies until the next end-of-no-overtaking or end-of-restrictions sign.
R-306
R-306 · No overtaking for lorries
Lorries with a maximum authorised weight over 3,500 kg may not overtake motor vehicles on the carriageway, even when doing so would not mean crossing into the oncoming side. It applies until the next end-of-no-overtaking or end-of-restrictions sign.
R-307
R-307 · No stopping or parking
You may neither stop nor park on the side of the carriageway where the sign stands. Unless stated otherwise, it runs from the sign to the next junction in your direction of travel.

R-307a · No stopping or parking, both directions from the sign
No stopping or parking on the sign's side of the carriageway, along the stretch between the nearest junctions or R-307b and R-307c signs on either side of it.

R-307b · No stopping or parking, in the direction of the arrow
No stopping or parking on the sign's side of the carriageway, from the sign to the nearest junction or R-307c sign in the direction the arrow points.
R-307c
R-307c · No stopping or parking, in the direction of the arrow
No stopping or parking on the sign's side of the carriageway, from the sign to the nearest junction or R-307b sign in the direction the arrow points.
R-308
R-308 · No parking
You may not park on the side of the carriageway where the sign stands. Unless stated otherwise, it runs from the sign to the next junction in your direction of travel. Stopping is still allowed.
R-308c
R-308c · No parking, first half of the month
No parking on the sign's side of the carriageway from 09:00 on the 1st until 09:00 on the 16th. Unless stated otherwise it runs from the sign to the next junction ahead. Stopping is still allowed.

R-308d · No parking, second half of the month
No parking on the sign's side of the carriageway from 09:00 on the 16th until 09:00 on the 1st. Unless stated otherwise it runs from the sign to the next junction ahead. Stopping is still allowed.

R-308e · No parking across an entrance
Parking in front of a vehicle entrance is prohibited.
R-308f
R-308f · No parking, both directions from the sign
No parking on the sign's side of the carriageway, along the stretch between the nearest junctions or R-308g and R-308h signs on either side of it. Stopping is still allowed.
R-308g
R-308g · No parking, in the direction of the arrow
No parking on the sign's side of the carriageway, from the sign to the nearest junction or R-308h sign in the direction the arrow points. Stopping is still allowed.
R-308h
R-308h · No parking, in the direction of the arrow
No parking on the sign's side of the carriageway, from the sign to the nearest junction or R-308g sign in the direction the arrow points. Stopping is still allowed.
R-309
R-309 · Restricted parking zone
Parking here is time-limited and you must display the time you started, in the prescribed way. The maximum stay, the hours the limit applies and whether parking is paid may be shown on the sign itself, on a board or on a supplementary panel.
R-310
R-310 · No horn
A reminder of the general ban on sounding your horn, except to avoid an accident.
